The following local residents are among the 327 students who graduated from SUNY Oneonta following the Fall 2013 semester. Graduates were honored at a December recognition ceremony hosted by College President Nancy Kleniewski and held in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House. They also are eligible to participate in the college's commencement on May 17.

The State University of New York at Potsdam has awarded scholarships, grants and awards to 1,047 students for the 2013-14 academic year. These accomplished SUNY Potsdam undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for their achievements with support for their educational experience.

Approximately 1,100 new students, selected from more than 12,000 applicants, began their studies at SUNY Oneonta this fall. Classes began on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The SUNY Oneonta Class of 2017 is exceptionally talented and diverse, said Roger Sullivan, the college's associate vice president for enrollment management. The freshman class has an average high school grade-point average of 91 and an average combined math and critical reading SAT score of 1135. Acceptances of AALANA (African American, Latino, Asian and Native American) students were up 11.3% this year, and for the first time, AALANA students accounted for 1 in 5 new freshmen and transfer students. The State University of New York at New Paltz will hold the May 2013 Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 19 at 10 a.m. on the Old Main Quadrangle. This year, there are 2,059 undergraduate degrees being conferred. There will be more than 1,400 undergraduate candidates participating in the ceremony and celebrating their achievements in the presence of their family and friends.
